Mid taper with a curly mullet
A distinct curly mullet with compact rounded ringlets on crown and noticeably longer curling tail at back, retained hair over upper ears, localized mid temple taper. Longer or tied hair partly obscures the neckline; agree the rear finish separately with your barber. Compare the front, both side references and rear view to discuss the outline with your barber.
What to ask your barber
I would like a mid taper at the temples and nape, retaining the fuller hair above it. Keep the compact crown curls and longer curly mullet tail. Before cutting, let’s agree whether the shortest edges show skin or visible hair, and choose a finish I can maintain at home.
Build a fuller barber brief ↗How to style this look
- Dry the layers with your fingers so the side and rear movement can settle naturally.
- Use a little curl cream or foam to encourage the curl groups without brushing them out.
- Adjust the ends when dry, preserving the length and movement that distinguish the layered shape.
