ABOUT TAPER FADE

A better reference.
A clearer haircut brief.

Explore the angles, understand the details and take a look you can explain to your barber.

THE FOUNDER

Leigh Phillips

Taper Fade was founded by Leigh Phillips, a barber associated with Mode Mens in Gloucester.

The library focuses on the choices behind a haircut: where the taper sits, what stays on top and how the style works from the sides and back. Its purpose is to make choosing and explaining a haircut easier.

Make the lookbook yours

  1. Find a closer match.Filter the lookbook by taper height and hair texture, then open a cut to see its available angles.
  2. Save the details you like.Keep a shortlist in saved looks, or download a labelled barber card. Saving works in the browser and device you are using.
  3. Be specific at your appointment.Use a barber brief to identify the fringe, retained weight and finish you want.

IMAGE POLICY

About these images

The current library contains 100 AI-generated haircut concepts across 400 views. The people and cuts are fictional. Image-policy links accompany the lookbook and individual references. Downloaded barber cards include their own AI-origin note so that information stays with the images.

These images are useful for comparing shapes. They are not photographs of clients, examples of Leigh’s barber work or evidence of a styling product’s results. AI views can contain inconsistencies, so any unclear detail needs checking against the haircut you actually want.

“4 views” means four separate angles. It does not mean a continuous 360-degree scan. We only label media as a rotation when a complete, usable rotation exists.

EDITORIAL POLICY

Useful advice with a clear source

Our guides explain haircut choices and link their background sources. The content is published by Taper Fade; we credit an individual barber’s review only when that review has actually taken place.

The current illustrated references and guides do not carry an individual professional review credit. Descriptive titles are navigation labels, not proof of an exact cutting technique. We do not infer clipper settings or measurements from an illustration.
