Longer twists fall in varied directions to create a fuller top silhouette. Use the side and rear views to compare the retained hair around the ears with the temple and nape transitions.
What to ask your barber
I would like a high taper at the temples and nape, retaining the fuller hair above it. Keep the longer twists and the fuller outline on top. Before cutting, let’s agree whether the shortest edges show skin or visible hair, and choose a finish I can maintain at home.
