Low taper with loose microbraids

Many slender loose microbraids swept behind ear and falling to shoulder level, tiny low temple taper visible on near side, natural scalp and uneven braid lengths. Longer or tied hair partly obscures the neckline; agree the rear finish separately with your barber. Compare the front, both side references and rear view to discuss the outline with your barber.

What to ask your barber

I would like a low taper at the temples and nape, retaining the fuller hair above it. Keep the loose microbraids and longer shoulder-level ends. Before cutting, let’s agree whether the shortest edges show skin or visible hair, and choose a finish I can maintain at home.

How to style this look

  1. Follow your braider’s cleansing routine and let the installed braids dry thoroughly.
  2. Arrange the existing rows or lengths gently rather than brushing through or repeatedly tightening them.
  3. Use only the small amount of care product suited to your routine; discuss a braid refresh separately from the fade or taper tidy-up.
