Low taper with a compact butch cut
A uniform short velvety butch cut with almost even length over rounded top, no lifted front, no spikes, natural receding hairline and low localized temple taper. Compare the front, both side references and rear view to discuss the outline with your barber.
What to ask your barber
I would like a low taper at the temples and nape, retaining the fuller hair above it. Keep an almost even short butch length and rounded top. Before cutting, let’s agree whether the shortest edges show skin or visible hair, and choose a finish I can maintain at home.

- Set the fringe or top in the direction shown while the hair is damp.
- Dry gently, then work a small amount of light paste or cream through the retained length if useful.
- Adjust the dry shape with your fingers and keep product off the very short edges.
